Veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill remains a free agent as players around the NFL are wrapping up their summer breaks ahead of training camp.
There has been no real indication throughout the offseason that any team has come close to signing Hill after he dislocated his left knee
and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, on Sept. 29, 2025. In a rehab workout video he shared on social media on Wednesday, Hill offered an update on his recovery.
Tyreek Hill still has “no power in my left leg” after severe injury
“So it’s about 10 months after doing two surgeries,” Hill explained, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “My left leg is the one that I injured. I have no power in my left leg, so I’m trying to regain all the power back in my left leg. But it’s one day at a time.”
Hill turned 32 years old in March of this year, and the obvious concern is that he no longer will be his “Cheetah” self coming off the type of injury that could end a career for an athlete his age. Some had previously linked him with a return to the Kansas City Chiefs, but such chatter now appears to be little more than speculation.
Hill played for Kansas City from 2016 until he was traded to the Miami Dolphins following the 2021 season.
“I ain’t going to tell you what my timeline is, but timeline looking real good right now, man,” Hill said about his future.
Tyreek Hill reveals severity of injury
Hill was featuring for the Dolphins when he suffered his gruesome injury. It sounds like outsiders didn’t fully realize just how serious that setback was last fall.
“You know, they told me I might not be able to walk again, and the doctor is like, ‘Bro, we don’t know what’s going to happen with your future,’ and now look at me. God is good,” Hill added during his comments. “I feel good.”
Hill could either consider taking a “gap year” out of the league to try to get right for 2027, or he could wait to see if an advertised contender would be willing to bring him in for a workout later this year. That said, his “no power” comment would lead one to believe he won’t be signing with a club anytime soon.
