    During an Escape from Tarkov stream on September 1, 2026, Twitch streamer TheBurntPeanut made a 9/11 joke that received backlash online. Tarkov is Peanut’s most-played game on stream; over 58% of his time live so far has been dedicated to the first-person multiplayer tactical extraction shooter. An average of 7,000 viewers tune in to watch the streamer every time he plays the game.

    On September 1, TheBurntPeanut obtained an LM-KC 130 model aircraft while looting in Escape from Tarkov. He then dragged the plane across his screen, making airplane noises. He then adjusted a magazine and a bottle in his inventory to resemble towers, and then, when he brought the airplane close to the “towers,” he shouted:
