    The summer transfer window is closed for many of Europe’s top leagues, but that doesn’t mean the wheeling and dealing is over. Players currently without a club can still be signed as free agents, while some notable leagues remain open for business. Who could be on the move?

    This list is primarily comprised of ageing veterans (Benzema, Vardy, and Ramos) and players who’ve been derailed by injuries (Alaba and Pogba) in recent seasons.

    But the likes of Sancho, Zinchenko, and former prodigy Martial should still be able to find new homes as clubs look to plug holes in their respective squads or get forced into the free-agent market after untimely injuries.

    Teams across Europe’s top five leagues can no longer buy players from other clubs, but they can still sell. The most likely remaining buyers – and those with the most financial power – come from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

    The Super Lig, which has landed the likes of Mohamed Salah, Rafael Leao, and Dusan Vlahovic this summer, has until Sept. 4 to acquire new players.

    The Saudi Pro League window, meanwhile, remains open until Oct. 12, giving SPL teams plenty of time to complete notable deals.

    The biggest transfer currently in the works is Gabriel Martinelli’s proposed €70-million switch from Arsenal to Al-Hilal.
