Adam Pearce reacts after 25-year-old star announces retirement immediately after being released from WWE

A rising star shook the wrestling world when he announced his decision to quit WWE after becoming a victim of the company’s latest round of firings. As expected, this led to a flurry of responses, and now RAW GM Adam Pearce has also responded to Luca Crusifino’s decision to step away for good.

While main roster releases like Kairi Sane, husband and wife duo of Aleister Black and Zelina Vega, all members of Wyatt Sicks, and more have garnered the most attention, a bunch of developmental talent have also been shown the door. One among them is Crusifino, who joined the global juggernaut back in 2022.

He was a member of the D’Angelo Family in NXT and looked like a promising talent, but WWE and TKO, unfortunately, had other plans. Merely days after the news of the firings became public, the 25-year-old star took to his Instagram to write a statement, wherein he announced that he was finished with the business.

Many of his colleagues commented on the post, one of whom was RAW’s General Manager, Adam Pearce. Check out his short and sweet comment below:

Triple H and Nick Khan were behind the WWE releases

Following the news of the latest layoffs, several rumors began doing the rounds on the internet speculating who took the call on which talent to cut.

Reports suggest that it was WWE CCO Triple H and President Nick Khan who were the decision makers. This makes Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, and Motor City Machine Guns’ firings beyond puzzling, as all of them were rumored to be in good books of The Game. As expected, there was palpable fan outrage, so much so that chants of Sane’s name even broke out during RAW this week.

On the other hand, Black had only returned to the company a year back, while Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were barely into their second year, having signed in September 2024. One can only hope all stars can find their footing back in the business soon, with Shelley and Sabin already expected to sign with AEW once their non-compete clause is up.
