BREAKING: AJ Styles Drops Huge WWE Signing Tease: “Only A Matter Of Time”

WWE legend AJ Styles recently dropped a massive teaser related to a possible new Stamford-based promotion signing. The name in question is up-and-coming TNA star Leon Slater.

Leon Slater has been performing in TNA Wrestling since 2023. The star made a huge name for himself in the promotion by winning the TNA X Division Championship. He was one day short of breaking the longest reigning TNA X Division Champion record when he lost the title against Cedric Alexander on the May 14, 2026 edition of Thursday Night Impact.

According to several reports, Slater’s TNA contract is about to expire, and AEW is interested in signing the star. However, according to WWE legend AJ Styles, he could end up in WWE. During a Q&A on a recent edition of his Phenomenally Retro podcast, Styles said that it was only a matter of time before Leon Slater joins the Stamford-based promotion.

“It’s only a matter of time, guys. It’s only a matter of time,” Styles said.

Leon Slater has competed in the World Wrestling Entertainment ring on several occasions in recent times, thanks to the Stamford-based promotion’s incredible partnership with TNA Wrestling. It will be interesting to see if Slater will join the TKO-led promotion anytime soon.

AJ Styles wants a popular AEW star to join WWE

During the same edition of his Phenomenally Retro podcast, AJ Styles said that he wants AEW star Will Ospreay in World Wrestling Entertainment, calling the latter an “amazing athlete.”

The Phenomenal One added that he believes Ospreay has figured out what works for him in pro wrestling before comparing Will’s work ethic to his own.

“Will’s the man, dude. I would love to have him in WWE—he’s an amazing talent. I think he’s figured out a lot about himself, and what he can do, and what looks good and makes sense—everything… Sometimes we worry about him hurting himself because he’s balls to the walls, but I get it, man. You’ve got one gear—you’ve got to go one gear until you retire, like myself,” he said.

It remains to be seen if the Triple H-led creative team has planned anything for Will Ospreay.
