Ronda Rousey versus Gina Carano is set to headline the upcoming Most Valuable Promotions’ MMA card on Saturday, May 16th, at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, with several MMA A-listers, including Francis Ngannou and Nate Diaz, featuring on a star-studded card.
While the fights themselves and the technical expression inside the cage take center stage, music has consistently been a major part of combat sports events since their inception, with fighters using electrifying walkout tracks to hype themselves up and ignite the crowd.

Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano walkout songs
The upcoming MVP MMA event is built around the return of two women’s combat sports pioneers, Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano.
While Rousey hasn’t stepped inside the octagon since her 2016 loss to Amanda Nunes, Carano last competed in 2009. However, both veterans have looked sharp in training and will be hoping to secure their first win in years.
Ronda Rousey reportedly used several walkout tracks during the early stages of her career, including ‘Sex and Violence’ by The Exploited. She eventually adopted ‘Bad Reputation’ by Joan Jett as her signature entrance theme.

The song has remained synonymous with Rousey throughout her legendary UFC run, and even followed her into WWE after she transitioned into professional wrestling.
Unlike many of her opponents, who stuck with a single signature anthem, Gina Carano frequently rotated her entrance music. One of her most memorable walkouts came in her final fight against Cris Cyborg in 2009, when she made her entrance to ‘Not for Nothing’ by The Lifeline.
The co-main event of the night features ex-UFC stars Nate Diaz and Mike Perry. Diaz has predominantly walked out to hip-hop tracks. Perhaps his most famous walkout was to ‘Ambitionz Az a Ridah’ by Tupac during his UFC 202 fight against Conor McGregor.
For his BMF title fight against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, Diaz used a carefully curated lineup of tracks for his walkout. He opened up with ‘Used to’ by Lil Wayne ft. Drake before transitioning into ‘Trained to Go’ by E-40. Diaz then brought in ‘The Way I Am’ by Eminem and capped off the entrance with Tupac Shakur’s ‘Out on Bail’.
Mike Perry, on the other hand, has walked out to a wide range of pop and hip-hop tracks throughout his career, including ‘Put On’ by Young Jeezy ft. Kanye West.
However, the most memorable moment involving Perry’s entrance music came at UFC 225, when the promotion’s production team mistakenly played ‘Halo’ by Beyoncé instead of the Halo video game theme song that Platinum had actually requested.
Another standout fight on the card features former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and the 2018 PFL heavyweight tournament winner Philipe Lins.
Ngannou has used multiple high-energy hip-hop and pop songs during his career. He walked out to ‘God’s Plan’ by Drake during his title win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 260, and the track has remained closely associated with him ever since. He even used the song for his crossover boxing match against Tyson Fury in 2023.
Ngannou has also used Shakira’s 2010 FIFA World Cup anthem, ‘Waka Waka’, during his UFC run.
Lins, meanwhile, is known for favoring rock and heavy metal tracks during his walkouts. Over the years, he has walked out to songs like ‘Monster’ by Skillet and, more recently, has developed a liking for ‘The Downing’ by Days Like These.
