    Former WWE NXT champion breaks silence ahead of main roster debut

    A 27-year-old WWE star’s main roster debut was officially announced on the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The star finally broke her silence on the announcement.

    The name in question is former WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Blake Monroe. A vignette of The Glamour aired during the April 24 episode of the blue brand’s show. At the end of the video, the text on the screen read, “Blake Monroe Coming Soon,” indicating that she would soon debut on SmackDown.

    Earlier today, Blake Monroe posted a video on TikTok hyping her main roster call-up. The former AEW star lip-synced the legendary and high-energy NASCAR command delivered by Kevin James at the 2007 Pepsi 400. The video also had “OFFICIALLY ON SMACKDOWN” text on the screen.

    Other than Blake Monroe, Ethan Page, Ricky Saints, Sol Ruca, Joe Hendry, and The Fatal Influence have also been called up to the main roster following WrestleMania 42.

    Blake Monroe explained why she left AEW for WWE

    Before she made her WWE NXT debut in June 2025, Blake Monroe had a successful two-year-long stint in AEW.

    During an appearance on The Masked Man Show, Monroe explained why she left the Tony Khan-led wrestling promotion and joined World Wrestling Entertainment. The former Mariah May noted that she had wrestled all over the world. Monroe added that she wanted to face fresh challenges and compete against the women she had never wrestled before.

    “I’ve wrestled all over the world, and I’ve moved countries a few times, and I always pride myself on how I can adapt, how I can pick up challenges, and that’s kind of what motivates me … there are so many women that are fantastic that I want to wrestle, I want to have storylines with, and I think for me, it’s just kind of focusing on what do I want to achieve at WWE, and that’s to tell these stories to make people feel something,” she said.     Blake Monroe became a popular name among NXT fans in no time. It will be interesting to see what plans Triple H and the creative team have for her on the main roster.
