Cowgirl Soccer Remains Perfect On Spring Season – Oklahoma State University Athletics

DALLAS – Oklahoma State went on the road and picked up a comeback win over SMU in a spring exhibition match Saturday in Dallas.

With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 3-0 on the spring and have now outscored their opponents by a 16-1 margin.

SMU went on top less than 10 minutes into the contest, but OSU collected the equalizer when a shot attempt by Xcaret Pineda was deflected by a defender before Laudan Wilson buried the ball in the net. The goal was Wilson’s second of the spring.

It would be Pineda providing what proved to be the game winner just five minutes later. After Wilson was tripped in the box, OSU was awarded a penalty kick that Pineda converted for her third goal of the spring.

Ary Purifoy and Peyton Pearson split time in goal for the Cowgirls, with Pearson keeping the Mustangs off the board in the second half to help secure the win.

OSU returns to action Sunday, April 2, when the Cowgirls host Oral Roberts at Neal Patterson Stadium.
